Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team defeated the WildCats of Randolph College 21-6 on Saturday afternoon at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, VA. Five seniors were honored before the game on Senior Day.

GAME RECAP
The Marlins got on the scoreboard first with a goal 32 seconds into the game off the stick of Carline Engle. Randolph evened the score at one all before Virginia Wesleyan went on a six goal run to close out the first quarter. Helen Kennedy-Butler, Mchaela Elston, Mikayla Callahan, Mikayla Szudera (2), and Sam Hill all scored in the run.
The WildCats scored the first goal of the second quarter putting the score at 7-2. The Marlins responded with a trio of goals, one from Kennedy-Butler and two from Natalie Dunn, to take a 10-2. lead. RC added their third goal with four and a half minutes to play in the half. VWU answered with another three goals, one each from Elston, Szudera, and Dunn, to give the Marlins a 13-3 lead at the break.
VWU scored five goals in the third quarter to increase their lead to 18-4. Dunn added two more while Kennedy-Butler, Engle, and Hill each scored a goal each.
The last three goals scored for the Marlins came in the fourth as Kennedy-Butler scored her fourth and Dunn added her six and seventh of the game. VWU claimed the win 21-6.

The women's lacrosse team is back in action next Saturday, April 16th, when they travel to Ferrum, VA, to take on the Panthers of Ferrum College. First draw is at 1 PM.
