The Virginia Wesleyan Marlins women's lacrosse fell to Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets women's lacrosse 17–3 on Wednesday evening in Virginia Beach, facing a tough conference test despite continued effort throughout.
Randolph-Macon controlled the pace early, building a 2–0 lead after the first quarter before breaking the game open with a seven-goal second period. The Marlins found themselves in an early deficit but continued to compete and look for opportunities to respond.
Kenna Duplechin led Virginia Wesleyan with two goals, while
Reese Morgenthaler added one. The Marlins generated offense in the middle quarters, showing flashes of connection and persistence against a high-pressure Yellow Jackets defense.
Randolph-Macon was paced by a strong offensive showing from Lilly Fowler, who recorded five goals and an assist, while multiple players contributed in a balanced scoring attack. Their efficiency in transition and ability to capitalize on possessions proved to be the difference.

The Virginia Wesleyan Marlins women's lacrosse will hit the road on Saturday, April 25, traveling to face the Bridgewater Eagles women's lacrosse in the first round of the ODAC Championship.
