Box Score Marlins Fall 22-6 to Generals on Rainy Afternoon
VIRGINIA BEACH,Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College women's lacrosse team fell behind 15-2 in the first half before scoring four after intermission in a 22-6 loss to Washington and Lee University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action Saturday.
The Generals started the scoring with six straight goals before Abby Shope connected on a free position attempt.
W&L tallied another six goals before Ashley Winslow found the back of the cage to cut the deficit to 12-2.
Haley Tucker had three first-half goals for the Generals as 11 different players found the scoring column before intermission.
Shope and Ashley Winslow scored their second goals of the contest in the second half as Megan Schallock and Becca Winslow also added tallies.
Madison Carroll stopped seven shots while her teamed scooped 11 ground balls.
Tucker and Mimi MacCowatt each had three goals for the Generals (6-5/4-0).
Virginia Wesleyan (2-7/1-1) hosts Lynchburg College Wednesday at 5 p.m.
