The Virginia Wesleyan University men's swimming team came in seventh, scoring 127 points through the competition.
Mason Pifer led Virginia Wesleyan as he broke the school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.18.
Virginia Wesleyan opened the meet in the 800-yard freestyle relay, where the quartet of
Camden Holmes,
Logan Schohn, Brayden Canterburry, and
Gavin Wehr finished seventh overall with a final time of 8:05.15.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay,
Cael Long,
Reilly Shaffer,
Mason Pifer, and
Tommy Saeger combined to place sixth, touching the wall in 1:29.30.
During the 500-yard freestyle,
Tommy Saeger placed 26th overall with a time of 5:09.39, while
Logan Schohn finished 27th in 5:18.02, and
Camden Holmes followed in 29th with a final time of 5:20.98.
In the 200-yard individual medley,
Cael Long recorded a 19th-place finish, posting a time of 1:58.13.
The Marlins had several swimmers compete in the 50-yard freestyle, led by
Mason Pifer, who finished 25th in 22.89.
Reilly Shaffer followed closely in 26th with a time of 22.91.
Gavin Wehr placed 31st in 23.44, while Brayden Canterburry finished 36th with a time of 24.98.
Virginia Wesleyan's 400-yard medley relay team of
Mason Pifer,
Cael Long,
Tommy Saeger, and
Reilly Shaffer was disqualified during the event.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the same quartet of Pifer, Long, Saeger, and Shaffer placed sixth overall, finishing in 1:39.43.
The Marlins saw action in the 100-yard butterfly, where
Cael Long placed eighth with a final time of 51.12, and
Tommy Saeger followed with a 14th-place finish in 52.75.
In the 200-yard freestyle,
Reilly Shaffer finished 23rd overall with a time of 1:51.61.
Logan Schohn placed 24th in 1:56.43,
Gavin Wehr finished 27th in 1:59.69, and
Camden Holmes rounded out the VWU field in 28th, touching in 2:00.34.
