Men's Swimming had Several Standout Performances at the Bridgewater Dual Meet

The Virginia Wesleyan men's swim team collected several standout performances during their meet at Bridgewater.

The 400-meter medley relay team of Camden Holmes, Brayden Canterbury, Gavin Wehr, and Logan Schohn earned fourth with a time of 4:53.58.

Matthew Thomas opened the meet with a victory in the 200-meter freestyle, touching the wall at 2:06.85. Holmes followed in fourth (2:20.66), and Reilly Shaffer placed fifth (2:21.46). In the 50-meter freestyle, Wehr led the Marlins in fourth place with a 27.19 finish, while Shaffer (28.83) and Canterbury (29.54) rounded out the top six.

Cael Long had a standout showing in the 200-meter individual medley, winning the event in 2:17.28. Tommy Saeger placed third in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:31.50. In the 100-meter freestyle, Thomas secured third at 58.02, followed by Mason Pifer in fourth (59.03) and Brandon Temple in sixth (1:01.29).

Long added another top performance with a runner-up finish in the 200-meter backstroke (2:23.14), and Holmes claimed third in the same event (2:38.43). Schohn took second in the 400-meter freestyle, finishing in 4:57.72.

The Marlins' 400-meter freestyle relay team of Saeger, Pifer, Temple, and Thomas finished third with a time of 3:53.18, while the quartet of Shaffer, Wehr, Canterbury, and Schohn earned fifth in 4:12.85.
