The Virginia Wesleyan University men's volleyball team (11-5, 4-3 ODAC) swept Averett, winning 25-11, 25-13, and 25-18.

Matthew Sheppard led the team with eight kills, an .800 hitting percentage, three block assists, and two digs,
Christian Harris had five kills, a .278 hitting percentage, two service aces, two blocks, and two digs, and
Aiden Parker had four kills, two service aces, two block assists, and seven digs.
Jagger Ogle led the team with 12 assists, had one service ace, and seven digs, and teammate
Carlyle Campbell recorded two kills, with a .286 hitting percentage, and a team-high four block assists.
In the first set, the Marlins came out hot going on a 17-1 run to start the set. The Cougars came back to cut the lead to 7-19, but the Marlins closed out the set with a score of 25-11.
Virginia Wesleyan kept their momentum from the first set and jumped out to a 6-3 lead. However, Averett responded with a 5-2 run to tie the set at 8-8. VWU's offense caught fire and went on an 11-1 run to lead 19-9, and the Marlins went on to win the set 25-13.
In the third set, the teams traded points and ended up tied 5-5, but the Marlins went on a 7-0 run to lead 12-5. Averett came back with a 6-2 run to cut the lead to 14-11. However, Virginia Wesleyan countered with a 9-3 run to lead 23-14. The Cougars outscored the Marlins 4-2, but the Marlins won the est 25-18.
