Brooks Named ODAC Defensive Player of the Week

Breana Brooks of the Virginia Wesleyan University women's volleyball team was awarded ODAC Defensive Player of the Week. 

Brooks, a senior from Asheboro, N.C., earns her third ODAC weekly honor with continued strong play at the net in nationally 21st-ranked Virginia Wesleyan's 2-0 showing against ODAC squads in the top of the league table. On Friday, Brooks registered five blocks with one dig defensively and chipped in eight kills against just one error on 15 swings for a .467 attack percentage in a 3-0 victory over Bridgewater. On Saturday, the Marlins posted a second straight 3-0 win, this time over No. 22 Washington and Lee. Brooks registered three blocks and a pair of digs to go with nine kills at a .316 clip. For the season, Brooks leads the ODAC in total blocks (75), block assists (57), blocks per set (0.97), and hitting percentage (.332, 152-42-331). She is second in solo blocks (18).
