Adrianna Gunther of the Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team was named VaSID First Team All-State Defense for her performance for the 2024 season. 

Adrianna Gunther started 18 of 19 games for the Marlins, tallied one goal and two assists, playing in the back line for most of the season. She was part of a Marlins team with the fourth-best defense in the conference that allowed 10 goals in conference play. Earlier this year she was named First Team All-ODAC and Third Team All-Region.
