The Virginia Wesleyan men's swim team (1-4) won against Gallaudet and fell short by 30 points to Chowan in dual meet.
The meet was highlighted by
Cael Long who broke his own record in the 100 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 55.02, scoring a second place finish. Long finished first in the 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 28.52, and he came in second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:01:56.
Also performing exceptionally well was
Tommy Saeger who came out on top in both the 100 Yard Backstroke and 50 Yard Butterfly with times of 58:06 and 24:25 respectively. Saegar finished second in the 100 Yard Butterfly event with a time of 53:69.
Mason Pifer put up a strong performance, coming in second in the 50 Yard Freestyle out of seven swimmers.
Matthew Thomas earned a second place finish with a time of 1:56:92 in the 200 Yard Freestyle event. He also came in second in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 52:27 and in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:20:07.
In 200 Yard Medley Relay competion,
Mason Pifer,
Cael Long,
Tommy Saeger, and
Reilly Shaffer teamed up for a second place finish with a time of 1:45:07.
Next the Marlins will compete at Randolph-Macon College for an invitational beginning November 22nd.
