Box Score The Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team faced the Chowan University Hawks in a scrimmage and lost in a close 4-3 battle.

Chowan took the doubles point with wins at all three spots. The final doubles match to finish was at #1 as Sebastien Muller and Hovo Madanyan fell in a tightly contested 6-4 set.

The Marlins entered singles play down 1-0. Chowan captured straight set wins over Rafael Rullan Zarraga and Carlos Rullan Zarraga at #1 and #4 respectively. Next to finish was the #2 singles match as Tudor Vlad fell to Egor Pishchelev 6-0, 7-5, clinching the match for the Hawks. 

The remaining three matches played were all won by the Marlins to bring the final score to 4-3. Sebastien Muller won at #3 singles with a score of 7-6, 6-3. After winning the first set 6-1, Madanyan won by default at #6 as his opponent retired early in the second set. Alen Curovic was last on court but seized a convincing 6-0, 6-4 win at #5.
