The Virginia Wesleyan University women's tennis team completed their weekend of tennis in Southern Virginia at Averett University, falling 1-8.
The Marlins played competitively at all three doubles spots falling 5-8, 3-8, and 4-8 at No.1, No. 2, and No. 3, respectively.
Anna Rogers and Shannon Lewes each came close to winning a set in singles, but could not close out.
The lone win for the Marlins was by senior Alexa Brewster at No. 1 singles. After losing the first set, Brewster came back to win in a third-set tiebreaker.
Next up, the Marlins will face Randolph Macon College at home on Saturday, April 22.
