GREENSBORO, NC. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell to the Quakers of Guilford College on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, NC. Four Marlins recorded double-digit figures led by
Meadow Dyke with 17 points and
Sarah Ellis with 14.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams were even through the first three and a half minutes of action with score sitting at 4-4, but the Quakers took a four-point lead three times before the Marlins came back to knot the score at 13 all with 2:24 remaining. Virginia Wesleyan took a three-point lead following a three-pointer by
Jada Norman with 1:19 in the first quarter, but four quick points for Guilford put the Quakers ahead 17-16 to start the second quarter.
Guilford opened the second quarter with nine unanswered points claiming a 10-point lead, 26-16. The Marlins came as close as eight points, 36-28 with 2:37 remaining in the first half, but the Quakers closed out the second quarter on a 10-4 run taking a 46-32 lead into the break.
Virginia Wesleyan scored 15 points throughout the third quarter led by
Meadow Dyke with five points.
Lenah Clements and
Jada Norman both added three points while
Terina Dandridge and
Adaje Williams both put up two. The teams headed into the final quarter with the Quakers leading 70-47.
The Marlins chipped away at the Quakers lead throughout the fourth quarter to trail by eight points, 74-66 with 1:50 left on the clock. Virginia Wesleyan used a 19-4 rally to close the gap. Guilford tallied six more points while holding VWU to one point in the final two minutes as the Quakers took the win 80-67.
