LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell to the WildCats of Randolph College 67-48. The Marlins were led by
Sarah Ellis with 10 points and
Adaje Williams with nine.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Marlins came out in the first quarter to only score five points while the WildCats put up 17 against their foes.
Sariya Monroe scored three points and
Meadow Dyke scored the other two.
VWU scored 13 points in the second quarter while holding RC to 14 points as the teams went into the halftime break with Randolph leading Virginia Wesleyan 31-18.
Adaje Williams scored a pair of free throws 11 seconds into the third quarter to pull VWU within 11 points, 31-20, but that was the closest the Marlins came as Randolph took off over the next four minutes on a 17-5 run putting the score at 48-25 (5:24). In the final five minutes, the Marlins outscored the WildCats 12-3 as VWU trailed by 14 points, 51-37, heading into the final quarter.
Randolph opened the final quarter on a 9-4 run taking a 60-41 lead with 5:36 left on the clock. Both teams scored seven more points throughout the remainder of the game as the WildCats went on to win 67048.
