Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team tied with the Eagles from the University of Mary Washington 1-1 on Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg, VA.
Molly Gobble scored the game-tying goal for the Marlins.

FIRST HALF
- The Eagles got things started quickly as they scored in the opening ten minutes of play to put the Marlins on the offensive for the remainder of the first half.
- Virginia Wesleyan tallied seven shots in the opening half with five shots coming on frame but saved by Mary Washington's keeper. UMW recorded four shots on goal with Rachel Quigley making three saves.
SECOND HALF
- The teams came out of the half continuing to battle with the Marlins trying to find a goal.
- About 12 minutes into the second half, Molly Gobble evened the score sending the ball into the top right corner of the net following a Marlin throw-in from the far side of the field.
- Neither team managed to find the go-ahead goal to secure the victory as the teams ended the second half in a 1-1 draw.
KEY STATS
- The Marlins lone goal was scored by junior Molly Gobble.
- Freshman Shyenne Diaz led the team with three shots.
