Men's Tennis takes three points on regionally ranked No. 9 CNU

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's tennis team fell on Sunday afternoon in a scrimmage against regionally ranked No. 9 Christopher Newport University. 

INSIDE THE SCORE
  • The Captains took the earlly lead winning two of the three doubles points. 
  • Marlin seniors Tim Tep and Henry West won at No. 2 doubles with a score of 8-7 (7-4) over the Captains No. 2 duo. 
  • In the singles bouts, Mitchell Perry and Francis Cabaddu claimed individual wins at their respective singles flights, while CNU took the remaining four.
  • Perry won at No. 2 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
  • Cabaddu took the No. 3 flight after a hard fought battle in which he won in three sets, 0-6, 6-4, 10-8.
UP NEXT
The No. 2 seeded Marlins return to the court on Tuesday, May 2, when they host the No. 7 seeded Maroons of Roanoke in the quarterfinal round of the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament.
