VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis team rebounded after yesterday's match, with a win over the WildCats of Randolph College 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Everett Tennis Center in Virginia Beach, VA. 

INSIDE THE RESULTS

• The Marlins controlled the pace of the match early on winning all three doubles matches, taking a 3-0 team lead into the singles bouts.
• Anna Rogers and Alexa Brewster won at No. 1 by a score of 8-2, while Christine Zalameda and Amanda Stegemann won at No. 2, 8-0.
• Maya Brown and Sophia Bibbo won by forfeit at No. 3 doubles.
• In the singles bouts, Virginia Wesleyan won four matches while Randolph claimed the remaining two to put the final score at 7-2.
• Brewster did not relinquish a game to her opponent winning at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0.
• Zalameda recorded a win at No. 2 singles, giving up just game to win 6-0, 6-1.
• Kristina Abrams fell at No. 3 singles to her opponent 6-0, 6-2.
• Kaitlyn Totman, who played in the No. 4 singles spot, also gave up just game to win 6-0, 6-1.
• Stegemann battled at the No. 5 singles spot but fell 6-0, 2-6, 7-10.
• Brown won by forfeit at No. 6 singles for the final point.

The Marlins return to the court again tomorrow, Saturday, April 9, when they host the Maroons of Roanoke College. The match is slated to begin at 1 PM.
