Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis team defeated the Panthers of Ferrum College 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Everett Tennis Center in Virginia Beach, VA.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
- Virginia Wesleyan took the early lead winning all the three doubles matches.
- Alexa Brewster and Anna Rogers knocked off the No. 1 Panthers pair 8-0 while Christine Zalameda and Amanda Stegemann won at No. 2, 8-6.
- Sage Mitchell and Sophia Bibbo dropped the No. 3 set 8-7 to the Panthers.
- In the singles bouts, VWU won five of the six to take the match 8-1.
- Brewster won at No. 1 singles giving up just one game 6-0, 6-1, while Zalameda didn't give up a single game at the No. 2 flight winning 6-0, 6-0.
- Rogers also played a perfect singles round winning at No. 3 singles in 6-0, 6-0.
- Kristina Abrams battled at No. 4 singles to win her bout 6-3, 6-0.
- Kaitlyn Totman won her singles bout with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 5, while Maya Brown rounded out the action with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
