VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team fell to the Saints of Marymount University on Saturday afternoon at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, VA.

GAME RECAP
The Saints commanded the game from the beginning scoring seven goals out of the gate before Virginia Wesleyan's Caroline Engle scored the first VWU goal on a free-position shot. MU added three more goals in the opening quarter taking a 10-1 lead into the second.
Marymount added three goals to start the second quarter going up 13-1. Engle connected with Natalie Dunn who put the ball in the back of the net for the Marlins second goal. MU added two more before the halftime break to lead 15-2.
VWU came out of the break scoring first on an unassisted shot by Helen Kennedy-Butler. The Saints recorded a pair before Michaela Elston scored the fourth goal for VWU off another Engle assist. Marymount scored four more goals through the third and fourth but the Marlins got the last score of the game as Mikayla Szudera scored unassisted putting the final score at 21-5.
