Mens Swimming pick up first win of the season

3 new team records as men pick up first win of the season

Virginia Beach.VA – The Virginia Wesleyan Men's Swim Team fought hard to win over Gallaudet on Saturday afternoon at the Virginia Wesleyan pool. The final score came out to 91-63 in favor of the Marlins.
 
Highlights from the meet:

- The Marlins won 9 out of the 11 events of the day.

- Leading the way for the Marlins was freshman Cael Long who won two individual events.  The 100 fly and 100 breaststroke, as well as being part of the winning 200 freestyle relay. Cael managed to set new team records in both events posting a 53:97 in the 100 fly and a 1:03:52 in the 100 breaststroke.
 
- Freshman Logan Schohn broke his own 1000 freestyle team record on his way to win the event with a time of 11:08.14. He also picked up a win in the 100 backstroke.
 
- Sophomore Luke Bukowski secured wins for the Marlins in the 50 and 100 freestyle. In the 50 he posted a new personal best time of 23.62. Luke was also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay.
 
- Junior Eddie McDonald picked up wins in the 200 and 500 freestyle, as well as on the 200 freestyle relay.
 
- The Marlins 200 freestyle relay quad of Luke Bukowski, Cael Long, Stuart Reyes and Eddie McDonald closed out the meet with a win!

Up next:
The Marlins will return to action on November 5th when they travel to swim Hampden-Sydney college for a 1pm meet.
