Brewster represents VWU women's tennis at ITA Southeast Regional

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis senior Alexa Brewster represented the Marlins at the ITA Southeast Regionals tournament hosted by Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, Va., from Sept. 23-25, 2022.

Brewster had a strong 2-1 showing, competing in the Championship Singles draw. After suffering a tough loss in her first round match against Christina Huynh from John Hopkins University, a nationally ranked team, Brewster recovered, winning her next two matches in the backdraw. She first defeated Torienne Emery, Stevenson University's No. 1 singles player 8-2. Then she furthered her run with a win against Summer Williams from Haverford College 8-3.

Next up, the Marlins will travel to Staunton, VA to compete in a fall dual match against the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin University. The match is scheduled for October 9, with a start time at 11am.
