FIRST HALF
- The teams took about 20 minutes to settle in before the Marlins broke onto the scoreboard in the 22nd minute with a goal by Lexi Soteriou (2nd goal). Olivia Bryant (5th assist) assisted the goal to Soteriou following a free kick.
- Virginia Wesleyan quickly scored again, just four minutes later in the 26th minute as Emma Acanfora (3rd goal) hit the back of the net shortly after entering the game.
- Neither team scored the remaining 20 minutes despite VWU taking 14 shots in the half.
SECOND HALF
- Neither team managed to score in the second half despite the Marlins taking 27 shots with three of those hitting the post.
