Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team defeated the Avenging Angels of Meredith College 6-0 on Tuesday evening at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Six different Marlins scored in the match as VWU won their second consecutive game.

FIRST QUARTER
- The Marlins got on the scoreboard first in the 6th minute as Lauren Hedspeth connected with a pass from Julia Strohman to put the ball in the back of the cage.
- Lexie Thomas found VWU's second goal about two and a half minutes later to put the Marlins up 2-0 heading into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
- Three minutes into the second Willow Baker scored the third Marlins goal unassisted.
- The Marlins struck again with five minutes to go as Emily Moniz scored the fourth goal before heading into the halftime break.
THIRD QUARTER
- Neither team found a score in the third quarter despite the Marlins getting off 16 shots.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Raquel Kelly scored the fifth goal off an assisted pass from Julia Strohman with just under ten minutes remaining in the match.
- Strohman capped off the game with a sixth and final goal with eight seconds left in the match as VWU went on to win 6-0.
