NORFOLK, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's tennis team fell 7-0 to Norfolk State University on Wednesday afternoon.  The Marlins had traction in doubles, taking the top spot 6-4.  At #3 doubles, Michael Portera and Connor Cummings were down a break of serve late in the set at 5-4.  Making all of their returns against NSU's Ibrahim Abbas, the Marlin #3 went up love/40, earning 3 break points to level the set at 5-5.  In the end the NSU team executed and held serve for the 6-4 win, giving the Spartans the double point.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

• Marlin freshman Felix Bevc came out hot at #1 singles going up 4-1 on NSU's Federico Rebecchini but fell short 6-4, 6-0 at the top spot.

• Playing at #2 singles, Mitchell Perry came back from a set down and 2-5, breaking serve and pushing the 2nd set to 4-5 against NSU's Andres Alcaraz, but fell short, losing 6-2, 6-4.

• Senior Anthony Wilson battled at #3 singles but dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Santiago Rendon.

• Henry West, Michael Portera and Connor Cummings each dropped their singles matches 6-0, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively
