Men’s Tennis End’s Regular Season with 8-1 Loss at Mary Washington

Fredericksburg, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team, ranked #17 in the South Atlantic Region, dropped an 8-1 decision on the road to #5 University of Mary Washington Eagles on Monday afternoon.  The Marlins had success at the top of the singles line-up, winning at #2 and dropping a razor close 3rd set decision at #1.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • VWU dropped all three doubles matches 8-3, 8-2, 8-1 respectively.
  • Felix Bevc took the first set from Andrew Watson at #1 singles and was up in the 2nd set but ended up falling 4-6, 7-5, 14-12.
  • Mitchell Perry came out strong taking the first set 6-3 at #2 singles and held on for a 6-3, 7-5 win over Cole Tecce.
