SALEM///LYNCHBURG, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan Men's tennis team went 2-0 on Sunday by defeating Emory & Henry and Lynchburg, each 8-1.  In the morning match vs. E&H, the Marlins swept the doubles and then took the first 5 singles matches in straight sets.  In the afternoon, the team headed to Lynchburg with similar results.  Again, the Marlins swept doubles and took the first 5 singles matches in straight sets before dropping 6 singles in a 3 set loss.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

• The No. 1 doubles team of Mitchell Perry and Felix Bevc dropped just one game on the day at the top spot, winning 8-1 and 8-0 respectively over E&H and UL.
• The No. 3 team of Michael Portera and Connor Cummings dropped just 3 games on the day winning 8-2 and 8-1 respectively.
• Mitchell Perry locked down the top singles spot on the day winning 6-3, 6-1 vs E&H before knocking off UL's #1 player 6-0, 6-0.
• No. 3 Henry West dropped just 5 games on the day winning 6-4, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1.
• No. 5 Michael Portera dropped just 3 games winning 6-0, 6-0 over E&H and 6-1, 6-2 over UL.
• No. 6 Anthony Wilson followed up a 6-0, 6-0 performance vs. E&H with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Lynchburg.
