Box Score SALISBURY, Maryland - The Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team defeated the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University 2-1 in an exhibition match on Thursday afternoon in the regular season finale in Salisbury, MD.

FIRST HALF
- Virginia Wesleyan found the first score of the game in the 30th minute as freshman Tyler Wheeler connected with the net off a pass from Emily Wright to give the Marlins a one-nil lead.
- VWU took the 1-0 lead into halftime holding the Sea Gulls to just four shots in the opening half.
SECOND HALF
- Three minutes into the return to action Wheeler scored a second goal, this time from Mia Meinhardt, to give the Marlins a 2-0 advantage.
- Salisbury fended off the shutout by putting one into the back of the net in the 53rd minute but the Virginia Wesleyan defense kept the Sea Gulls off the board the remainder of the game to win 2-1.
