Box Score HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team defeated the Wasps of Emory & Henry College 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in a neutral site contest at Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney, VA. The Marlins move to 2-1-0 with the same ODAC record, while the Wasps are now 0-3-0, also with the same ODAC record.
GAME INFORMATION
The first half of action saw neither team find a goal despite the Marlins controlling much of the possession time and getting 14 shots off, six of which came on frame.
VWU found the first point of the game a minute and a half into action after returning from the halftime break. The Marlin goal was scored by
Olivia Bryant off the assist from
Mia Meinhardt to put Virginia Wesleyan up 1-0. VWU added their second goal of the contest in the 80th minute as
Julia Marrone connected with the net to put the Blue and White up 2-0 with ten minutes in regulation. The Marlins again controlled the ball a majority of the second half taking 14 shots with six on goal including the two points.

The Marlins were led by
Olivia Bryant and
Julia Marrone with one goal apiece.
Mia Meinhardt added an assist on the day while
Mary Alexis Jackson led VWU with six shots in the game.
Ashleigh Lockard (W: 1-0) played all 90 minutes in goal making one save en route to her first win of the season.
EMORY & HENRY LEADERS
The Wasps were led by Adrienne Harris with the lone shot for E&H. The Wasp keeper Natalie Capone, played all 90 minutes in goal facing 28 shots and making 10 saves while also giving up the two Marlin goals.
