VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team fell to the Hornets from the University of Lynchburg on Tuesday afternoon in ODAC competition at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, VA.

FIRST QUARTER

• Lynchburg controlled the first quarter putting four goals on the board on 12 shots on goal taken.

SECOND QUARTER

• The Marlins held the Hornets to just one goal in the second quarter as well as had some attempts to set up shots.

THIRD QUARTER

• Lynchburg came out of the half reclaiming control and scoring five goals to go ahead 10-0 on 13 shots on goal.

FOURTH QUARTER

• Virginia Wesleyan's defense dug in in the fourth quarter holding Lynchburg scoreless while Maura Bridges made five saves.

• Maura Bridges made 23 saves in the game on 33 shots faced. 

The field hockey team returns to action again on Friday, April 2, when they travel Bridgewater, VA to face the Eagles of Bridgewater College at 3:30 PM.
