Box Score ASHLAND, Virginia – The Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team improved to 2-0 in ODAC play this afternoon with a close 5-4 decision over Randolph Macon.  After the Marlins claimed all 3 doubles, #2 Mitchell Perry was pulled from the line-up to rest an injury, moving everyone else up one spot in singles.  With the Marlins up 4-3, junior Michael Portera came through with a much needed 7-5, 7-6 (3) win at #4 singles, securing the team win for VWU.

Inside the Results:
Senior Mitchell Perry and freshman Felix Bevc made quick work at #1 doubles downing RMC's Inigo Suescun and Alex Hein, 8-3.  Perry and Bevc moved to 3-1 on the season at the top spot.
 
Senior Anthony Wilson and sophomore Henry West improved to 2-0 on the season at #2 doubles winning 8-4 over Max Hammock and Ryan Aud.
 
Junior's Michael Portera and Connor Cummings also improved to 2-0 on the season as they took down Dani Recarte and Max Doyle, 8-4 at #3 doubles.

Felix Bevc cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at the top spot in singles knocking off Hammock.  This was Bevc's first win at the top spot in singles. 
 
Anthony Wilson gutted out a tough 6-4 set at #2 singles against Inigo Suescun, but fell short 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.

Portera pulled out an impressive straight set victory over RMC's Ryan Aud, 7-5, 7-6 (3).  Portera served for the match at 5-2 in the 2^nd set but came up short.  Up 6-5, Aud claimed another game sending the 2^nd set to a tiebreaker.  Portera took the tiebreaker 7-3, giving the Marlins their 2^nd consecutive ODAC win on the season.
