The sophomore from Chesapeake, Va., had a great day in the pool helping Virginia Wesleyan defeat Sweet Briar, 117-108. Dewberry swam the 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.53, which ranks as the third fastest time in VWU program history as well as the 11th fastest time in the ODAC (for the 2021 season) in the event.
She won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:27.39 to again rank as the third fastest time in the 200-back in program history. The time was also fast enough to place the Marlin swimmer eighth in the league.
Alongside her teammates, Dewberry helped VWU win the 400-yard medley relay in 4:50.02 and place second in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:19.24.
The Marlins return to action in two weeks when they travel to Lynchburg, VA for the 2020-21 ODAC Championships hosted at Liberty University.
