Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell to the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday evening at TowneBank Arena in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Marlins got on the board first and went ahead 7-2 as the clock hit five minutes. A three pointer by
Jessica Jennings gave VWU a 10-7 lead with 3:40 in the quarter but R-MC came back to knot the score at 10 all two minutes later and when the horn sounded the teams were tied up a 12 all heading into the second quarter.
After a strong first quarter Virginia Wesleyan only managed to put up six points in the second 10 minute frame while Randolph-Macon tripled that with 18 points taking a 30-18 lead into the break.
The Marlins were held by the Yellow Jackets to just fve points in the third quarter as R-MC took a 47-23 lead into the final 10 minute period.
Virginia Wesleyan outscored Randolph-Macon 20-19 in the fourth quarter but their efforts were too late as the Yellow Jackets led 66-43 at the final buzzer.
VIRGINIA WESLEYAN LEADERS
The Marlins were led by
Jessica Jennings with 11 points.
S'Zahria Jones added eight and
Adaje Williams six to round out the leading VWU scorers. Williams collected nine rebounds to lead all players.
RANDOLPH-MACON LEADERS
The Yellow Jackets were led by Catherine Kagey with 14 points while Juliana Park contributed 11 of her own. Cheridan Hatfield led te Yellow Jackets with seven rebounds.

The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, December 4. The Marlins travel to Ferrum, VA, to face the Panthers of Ferrum College in an ODAC afternoon matinee.
