VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team fell to the Yellow-Jackets of Randolph-Macon College 4-1 on Wednesday evening at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, VA.

FIRST HALF

• The Marlins kept the Yellow-Jackets out of the goal during the first quarter only allowing four shot attempts. 
• RMC came alive in the second quarter putting three goals in the back of the cage in a three minute span taking a 3-0 lead into the halftime break. 

SECOND HALF

• Randolph-Macon scored a fourth goal in the 29th minute of the third quarter taking a 4-0 lead. 
• The Marlins staved off the shut out with a goal in the 46th minute as Raquel Kelly put the pass from Stephanie Hoke into the back of the cage, putting the final score at 4-1.

The field hockey team is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 9, when they travel to Winchester, VA to face Shenandoah University. The match between the Marlins and Hornets is slated to begin at 1 PM.
