Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team defeated the Hornets of Shenandoah University in a 3-0 shut out on Tuesday evening, October 19, at Foster Field in Virginia Beach, VA.
Breacain McClenahan tallied two of the three Marlin goals.

FIRST HALF
- The Marlins found the back of the net first as Breacain McClenahan corralled a pass from Emma Acanfora to give the Marlins a 1-0 lead with 24 minutes left in the first half.
- Neither team scored the remainder of the first half as VWU entered the break with a 1-0 advantage.
SECOND HALF
- The Marlins came out aggressive and hungry to grow their lead over the Hornets and were rewarded eight minutes into the return of play (57th minute) with a second goal from McClenahan off a pass from Adrianna Gunther.
- VWU found a third goal about twenty minutes later as Abby Peterson snuck a goal past the Hornet keeper off the pass from Alex Agee to give Virginia Wesleyan the 3-0 lead that they held until the final horn.

- Breacain McClenahan, Adrianna Gunther, and Kayln Byrd each tallied four shots in the match to lead the Marlins.
- With the win the Marlins claim the top spot in the ODAC standings sitting tied with Lynchburg at 6-1 against ODAC opponents. VWU holds the tiebreaker of UL after the 1-0 victory against the Hornets earlier in the season.
