FIRST HALF
- The teams battled back and forth throughout the first half of action with Lynchburg holding a slight advantage in possession of the ball, but Virginia Wesleyan's Alexis Miller got a pass forward to Olivia Bryant in a one-on-one situation to score the goal with seven seconds remaining in the opening half. VWU took their 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
SECOND HALF
- Neither team managed to find the back of the net in the second half of play despite the Hornets taking 10 shots and allowing the Marlins six. The Marlins uprooted the No. 22 Hornets 1-0 and improved to 5-0 in ODAC play.
