Marlins Improve to 5-1

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's tennis team improved to 5-1 on the young season with a 5-1, rain shortened, decision over Shenandoah University on Tuesday afternoon at the Everett Tennis Center. With the win the Marlins improve to 3-1 in ODAC play while the Hornets fall to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

  • Amanda Stegemann improved to 2-0 at 6 singles

  • Audrey Bally improved to 4-2 in singles on the year

  • The Marlins used 3 new doubles teams against Shenandoah

  • Heavy rains caused the match to be cut short just minutes after Audrey Bally clinched the 5th point for the Marlins at #3 singles, securing the team win

  • Both Alexa Brewster and Makayla Velic did not finish their matches at #1 and #2 singles respectively
