DANVILLE, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's tennis team fell to the Averett University Cougars 5-4 on Sunday afternoon in Danville, VA.  The Marlins found themselves down 0-3 after doubles and almost pulled off the rare 0-3 comeback but fell one match short when junior Anthony Wilson dropped a 6-4, 6-4 decision to Averett's Evgeniy Bogdasaryan at #5 singles after being up 4-1 in the 2nd set.  The Marlins took #2, #3 and #4 singles, all in 3rd sets after dropping the first set in each.

• For the 2nd year in a row the Marlins were swept in doubles by the Cougars.

• Last season the Marlins were swept in doubles and then won 3 of 6 singles matches; this year after being down 0-3 the Marlins came back and took 4 out 6 singles

• Timothy Tep, Mitch Perry and Andreas Combos all came back from a set down to win their match at #2, #3 and #4 singles respectively.

• Henry West won his 2nd match of the year in three tries at #6 singles when he downed Fabien Howding 6-2, 7-5
