BRIDGEWATER, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's swim team was defeated by the Eagles of Bridgewater College 130-57 on Saturday afternoon in Bridgewater, Virginia.

The meet was the last meet of the 2019-2020 regular season. VWU will next compete at the ODAC Championships from February 6-9.
INSIDE THE MEET
Virginia Wesleyan was edged out in all the races except the women's 100M butterfly in which Lizzy Ross finished first. The Marlins had several runner-up finishes including the 200M medley relay, 800M freestyle, 100M freestyle, 100M breaststroke, and the 800M freestyle relay.
Kiersten Lee, Dana Smith, Lizzy Ross, and Chloe Dewberry claimed a second-place finish in the 200M medley relay with a 2:13.83 time. Amanda Waller took second in the 800M freestyle finishing in 11:56.14 minutes. Dana Smith, with her time of 1:09.06, claimed second in the 100M freestyle with Waller on her heels in third with a time of 1:17.21. Smith later took second in the 100M breaststroke finishing in 1:23.94 minutes. Rounding out the top performances were the quartet of Dewberry, Taylor Morich, Steffanie Ward, and Jordan McCowan with a time of 11:47.16 in the 800M freestyle relay.

The Marlins are back in action on February 6 when they travel to Greensboro, N.C., to compete in the 2020 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Guilford College.
