VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's swim team defeated the Panthers of Ferrum College 82-56 at the Natatorium in the Jane P. Batten Student Center in Virginia Beach, Va. Seniors Patrick McKneeley and Kyle Woolf were honored prior to the meet as the two seniors on the men's swim team.
MEET INFORMATION
The meet was the last home meet for the Marlins of the 2019-2020 season. VWU has just one more regular-season meet, Jan. 25 at Bridgewater, before competing in the ODAC Championships from February 6-9.
RESULTS
INSIDE THE MEET
Virginia Wesleyan won eight of the 11 events in the meet dropping the 200Y individual medley, 200Y butterfly, and 200Y breaststroke races to the Ferrum Panthers.
Tyler Strong, Kyle Woolf, Caleb Royce, and Patrick McKneeley got the meet started for the men with a win in the 400Y medley relay finishing with a time of 4:12.87, 14 seconds faster than the Panthers of Ferrum.
Royce and Max Currens took one-two in the men's 100Y freestyle with times of 51.94 and 52.58. The Marlins concluded the meet with a 15-second win over the Panthers in the 200Y freestyle relay. VWU put down a time of 1:43.13 with Royce swimming the first leg in 23.29 seconds and Woolf anchoring the team with a 24.95 performance.

The Marlins are back in the pool on January 25 when they travel to Bridgewater, Va., to compete against the Bridgewater Eagles.
