Annville, PA - The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team claimed a 1-0 victory over Allegheny College Sunday afternoon at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA.
 

It was the Marlins who struck first as Kennedi Jones struck the back of the net on a breakaway early in the second quarter. The Marlins played a very offensive game, out-shooting the Gators 18-3. 

With the shutout, the Marlins improve to 2-2 while the Gators drop to 0-3 on the young season.  Field hockey returns to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as they travel to Widener University.
