Women's Soccer Defeats Hollins in Homecoming Match

Virginia Beach, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team dominated in it's home game against Hollins University by a score of 6-1 Saturday morning at the Trinder Center. With the win, the Marlins improve to 6-2-2 on the year (2-1-0 ODAC). 

The Marlin offense dominated the contest as they outshot Hollins 26-1. Virginia Wesleyan started scoring early as Mary Alexis Jackson scored in just the fifth minute of play. In the 16th minute Reina Araujo found the back of the net off an assist from Mary Alexis Jackson

The Marlins added two more goals in the first half from Teah Lorenzi and Marli Hayward as well as two more goals in the second half from Anna Pedicone and Sarah Heinbaugh

Women's soccer returns to action again at 7 PM on Wednesday as the team hosts Randolph Macon at the Trinder Center on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University.
