Marlins Fall Short to WildCats

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College women's tennis team came out on the wrong side of a 9-0 ODAC decision at the hands of Randolph College on Saturday.

While the Marlins were competitive in much of the match play, specifically at the top of the lineup, their WildCat opponents proved too much on the day.  Junior Jackie Lee delivered an inspired performance at first singles, pushing a very strong opponent before ultimately falling in two close sets.

Saturday's match marked the return to the court for junior Kellen Phillips. The Marlin returns to the tennis court after a successful season with the women's basketball team, and made her presence felt today with strong performances at first doubles and third singles.

Virginia Wesleyan (1-7/0-2) looks to bounce back Sunday against ODAC foe Lynchburg (5-6/2-2).
