Women's Swimming Breaks Records Despite Loss

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan women's swimming team fell, 108-51, to Salisbury University Friday evening at home. With the loss, the Marlins move to 2-5 on the inaugural season.

Despite the loss, plenty of marlin swimmers performed well, topping the newly written record books. Junior Hayley Heath collected a school record in 200-yd free with a time of 2:25.31 while also improving upon her own top time in the 100-yd backstroke (1:18.01).

Heath would later team up with Miah Kurtz, Amanda Waller and Taylor Morich to set a new school record in the 800-yd free, clocking in with a time of 10:49.97.

Women's swimming will return to the pool after the New Year as it travels to Greensboro College for a 1 p.m. meet on Jan. 13.
