Box Score Big Second Half Lifts Marlins to 5-0 Triumph over Randolph
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team scored four goals in the second half to defeat Randolph College 5-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action on Saturday.
The Marlins needed only 12 minutes to score as Ryan McCurry found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. McCurry found herself in a unique position, taking on three WildCat defenders. The 1-0 score remainder until midway through the second half when the Marlin scoring spurt starting to the excitement of the large Homecoming Weekend crowd. Anna Pedicone scored in the 58th minute when she took a deep one-on-one up the middle of the pitch, finding an opening to the right of the goalkeeper.
Alexandra Fitz made it 3-0 just five minutes later when she beat two defenders in the box, sending a shot off her right foot for an insurance tally at 63:50.
