Box Score Marlins Continue ODAC Hot Streak with 2-0 Win
WINCHESTER, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team continued its hot streak in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) with a 2-0 victory over Shenandoah University on Saturday afternoon.
The Marlins started the scoring in the 14th minute when Anna Pedicone scored off a Marli Hayward assist. It was the third time in the past four matches that the freshman has found the back of the net.
Pedicone added another score at 34:53 when Ryan McCurry found her for the insurance score.
The Marlins outshot Shenandoah (7-7/2-4) 13-9 with a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Alicia Zamora had three saves for the Marlins while Kasey Richitt registered six saves for the Hornets.
Virginia Wesleyan (9-5-1/5-1), winners of four-straight ODAC matches, hosts Bridgewater College (12-2-1/5-1) Wednesday for a 5 p.m. ODAC match.
