Marlins Roll to 4-0 Victory over Wasps

EMORY, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College women's soccer team showed an outstanding offensive attack Friday night to defeat Emory & Henry College 4-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

The Marlins were on the hunt for a goal early with a score from Marli Hayward at the 12:16 mark. Hayward's goal was followed closely by a penalty kick goal scored by Brooke Adamchak. To finish out the goal scoring frenzy in the first half, Annie Hartman added a goal at 15:53 to increase the Marlins' lead to 3-0.

The Marlins finished the first half with nine shots with three of them on goal.

The ladies continued the scoring by adding another goal in the second half.

Virginia Wesleyan's defense proved to be strong as Emory & Henry nwas held without a shot in the match.

The Marlins (5-3-1/2-0-1) will travel to Catholic University (6-1) on October 4 at 4p.m for some non-conference action.
