Men's Tennis Sweeps RMC 9-0; Prepares for Sunday Showdown vs.W&L

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College men's tennis team took care of business on Saturday afternoon at the Everett Tennis Center as they handed Randolph Macon College its fourth loss of the season with a 9-0 sweep.

The Marlins continue to play strong doubles as they swept RMC 8-4, 8-4, 8-1 respectively at the 1-3 doubles positions.

In singles, Virginia Wesleyan gave up an average of just four games in each singles match to secure the 9-0 sweep.  Senior Graham Wilson continues his impressive performance this year at No. 1 singles as he outlasted a tough John Adam at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-4.

At No. 5 singles, Tyler Chang found himself in a close first set with multiple breaks of serve on each side before clinching the first set 7-5 followed by a dominate 6-0 second set win.  Kenny Downing and Adam Rosemblaum gave up a combined three games as they locked down the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions respectively.

Up next for the Marlins will be a showdown with Washington and Lee University.  Up for grabs will be first place in the ODAC and possibly the No. 1 seed heading into the conference tournament.  The match will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Everett Tennis Center.
