No. 10 TCNJ Pushes Past Women's Soccer 5-0

EWING, N.J. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College women's soccer team faced one of the best programs in the country Tuesday afternoon, falling 5-0 to The No. 10-ranked College of New Jersey in non-conference action.

Justine Larocca put the Lions out in front 2-0 in the first half on a pair of goals, her first tallies of the season.

Elizabeth Thoresen, Jessica Goldman, and Hannah Richman all scored in the second half to produce the final result.

The Marlins managed four shots in the first half, but were ultimately outshot 22-5 while TCNJ took all six corner kicks.

The bright spot for Virginia Wesleyan came in the form of Megan Gerhart who returned from injury to make a save in a little over 21 minutes spent in net. Alexis Wheeler made six saves for VWC while Jessica Weeder stopped a shot for TCNJ (8-0-3).

Virginia Wesleyan (6-6/4-0 ODAC) returns to conference action Saturday as the Marlins travel to Roanoke College (5-3-1/2-2) for a 4:30 p.m. start.
