LEXINGTON, Va. -- Rookie Nikki Cuthbert (Morrisville, Pa./Fairless Hills Pennsbury) scored off a penalty corner in the 31st minute of Saturday's Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinal game at Washington & Lee University to pull Virginia Wesleyan College's Marlins within a 3-1 score at halftime.

The Marlins returned to W&L's Turf Field to play a strong second half, but could not find another goal as the host Generals posted a 4-1 victory.

Kelly Tran (Simsbury, Conn./Ethel Walker) scored twice for the Generals (9-7), including the lone goal of the second half.  W&L finished with a 17-4 advantage in shots.  Both teams produced five penalty corners.

Rookie Kirsten Olson (Springfield, Va./Lorton South County) recorded a pair of saves for VWC (2-15).  Caroline Sutherland (Huntington, N.Y./Cold Harbor) had one save for the Generals.
