Senior (2016-17): (Indoor) Competed in the shot put and weight throw… Posted a distance of 30’ 2.25” in the weight throw at the Artie O’Connor Invitational… (Outdoor) Competed in the shot put, discus, and hammer in the spring… Finished eighth or better in all three events at the Commonwealth Duals… Threw the shot 30’ 5.75” at the Liberty Collegiate Invite… Posted a distance of 107’ 10” in the hammer at the New Captains Classic & Combined.

Before VWC: Member of the honor roll all four years at Matoaca High School… Four-year member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)… Played varsity basketball for two years.

Personal: Son of Traci Gilchrist and Luther Small, Jr… Has four siblings.
