Virginia Wesleyan turned in a dominant performance on Sunday afternoon, sweeping Bridgewater 7-0 in ODAC women's tennis action on the road.
The Marlins established control early by winning all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. The No. 1 pair of Tuva Flink and Jette Hafermann set the tone with a 6-0 victory, while Jette Dammeier and Lexi Hackbirth followed with another 6-0 win at No. 2. Isabel Gamez and Sarah Reich completed the sweep at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 result.
Virginia Wesleyan carried that momentum into singles play, where it won all six matches in straight sets. Flink led the way at the top spot with a 6-1, 6-2 victory, and Hafermann delivered a flawless 6-0, 6-0 performance at No. 2.
Reich, Hackbirth, Dammeier, and Gamez each added straight-set wins to secure the shutout. Reich and Hackbirth were especially dominant, surrendering just one combined game in their matches, while Dammeier and Gamez also controlled play throughout.
